Video Production in the Yorkshire Dales

About Us

Amfilms is a video production company based in the Yorkshire Dales, England. We specialise in the production of local dales documentaries, travel video and medical video.

The company was established in 1981. Originally producing advice video tapes in the medical sphere, on such subjects as heart disease and contraception. Also at that time producing tapes of Yorkshire Dales scenery and people.

For a number of years the company produced music videos with a brass band from the local area, travel videos, documentaries, advertising video material and programmes screened in public waiting areas.

From 1977 the company founders used Super 8 sound film shot in a Beaulieu 5008s camera and this equipment is still in use as it was in 1981 when Amfilms produced its first commercial material for a German food packaging company.

The company then moved on to video, originally using low band UMatic and progressed on to SVHS, Hi8 and DV equipment. We now produce programmes using 2 HDV Sony HDR-Z1E`s and a Solid State 1920×1080 Sony PMW EX1 & 200 4.4.2 with Adobe Premiere and AVID Liquid editing software. We are now doing some recording in 4K and outputting as Bluray FullHD. All cameras are 3 chip from the Sony Professional Range. We have a library of Copyright music licensed to Amfilms. In-house equipment includes mains and battery lighting, Sony radio mic`s and Rode microphones.

We have undertaken promotional video productions used at trade shows for the particular industry. Screened at such places as the NEC Birmingham. Some of our other material has also appeared on BBC1 and ITV recently and in the past.

Our work has involved producing DVD programmes for Charities.
